The Redwood’s pirate-ship interior gives its live-music nights a distinctive setting: ship’s wheels hang overhead, masts and nautical paintings line the room, and the stage sits at the back of a dark, wood-heavy bar. This Downtown Los Angeles tavern pairs shows with a working grill, so you can have pub food and a drink before the band; its menu includes burgers and fish and chips. Live bands are a regular draw, with rock and punk among the styles reported, and the evening is as much a bar night as a music outing. Expect a small performance area and a crowd gathered close to it, rather than a formal concert setup. Recent event listings show shows scheduled at the venue, though door charges and times vary by event, so check the listing for your night.
