System Error : Artifakts + Parkbreezy
17201720 E. 16th Street, Los Angeles 90021
System Error brings Artifakts and parkbreezy to 1720 for a bill pairing two individual electronic artists rather than a fixed band lineup. Artifakts is Garret Meyer’s ever-evolving electronic hip-hop project; parkbreezy is Parker Williams, billed as a producer and artist. The night places their distinct approaches on the same Downtown LA program: Artifakts moves between electronic, hip-hop and soul, while parkbreezy’s work draws on beat-driven electronic music and a broad set of rhythmic influences.
Meyer is a Wisconsin-born artist whose Artifakts project has been described as blending electronic music, hip-hop and soul, with performances that can reach from current EDM bass music to classic funk grooves. A Music Box San Diego listing praised his live and DJ sets, saying he has “shown his belonging among the ranks of seasoned beat makers.” Williams is a Denver-based musician, producer and artist, as well as founder of the all:Lo collective and label. Descriptions of parkbreezy’s sound emphasize “soulful and emotive beats,” bringing together hip-hop, R&B, soul, jazz and electronic music through resampling, syncopated percussion, propulsive bass lines and melodies. He has performed at Red Rocks, the Mission Ballroom, Shambhala and Wakaan, and toured alongside Sunsquabi and Late Night Radio.
1720’s calling card is its range: the former garment factory hosts both all-ages punk, hardcore and metal shows and separately promoted late-night electronic events. Inside, high ceilings, exposed steel and concrete give the room a warehouse feel, while concert-grade sound and lighting make the stage the focus. Most shows are standing-room, with a bar and an outdoor patio; some events also bring pop-up food vendors, so check the listing rather than counting on a meal. The calendar is ticketed, and age rules and start times vary by event. You’ll find it in Downtown LA’s industrial warehouse district, where street parking is limited; the venue recommends rideshare. Its current listings include upcoming October and November 2026 shows at 1720 E 16th Street, confirming it is still operating at that address.
