jackrabbit.
Jackrabbit. brings its five-piece band to Pappy & Harriet’s indoor stage, with co-leaders Dermot Mulroney and Kieran Mulroney joined by Sebastian Sheehan, Matt McFadden, and Henry Quirion. The set centers on the group’s self-described “Cali-Country” approach: Americana-tinged country shaped by twangy guitars, layered harmonies, and lyrical storytelling. Their stated reference points run from the Bakersfield sound to the Eagles and the soft-rock tradition of California’s Sunset Strip, making this a full-band country-rooted performance rather than a solo appearance by Dermot Mulroney.
The Mulroney brothers have been cowriting and performing together, drawing on decades of shared history and creative instincts. Dermot Mulroney is also known as an actor, with film roles including Young Guns, My Best Friend’s Wedding, About Schmidt, Zodiac, and Scream VI, alongside television work in Shameless, Hanna, Secret Invasion, and Chicago Fire. Music has been a longstanding part of his life: he began playing cello at seven. An interview in Atwood Magazine describes jackrabbit. as “where all the pieces finally come together,” a line that frames the band as a sustained collaboration between the brothers rather than a detour from Mulroney’s screen career.
Pappy & Harriet’s began as the cantina on a 1940s Western film set, and that history still frames a night here: the venue sits among Pioneertown’s old movie-set facades, with the desert just beyond. It is a restaurant and live-music venue, with shows in indoor and outdoor spaces; the setting and touring acts make the trip feel tied to this particular outpost, rather than just a concert stop. Shows are ticketed, general admission and standing-room only, with ADA seating available at either stage. The restaurant is separate, serves food, and runs a first-come, first-served waitlist, so put your name down early if you want dinner; eating does not secure a show ticket. Check the event details for doors and weather, especially for an outdoor performance.
