Steve Bardwil Band tops a four-act bill with the ideal pedestrian, Bodhi Corbett & His Trio and Followers. Bardwil leads a seven-piece group: he sings and plays acoustic guitar alongside Johnny Stachela on electric guitar, Max Butler on keyboards and vocals, Vince Fossett on drums, congas and percussion, Aaron Leibowitz on saxophones and flute, Frank Coglitore on bass, and Catherine Jayne on vocals.
After a career as Chief Counsel for Walt Disney Studios, Bardwil turned to songwriting and guitar. The band’s Nothing But Time blends his storytelling with what The Mint calls a “joyful, alternative rock sensibility”; FestForums called it “one of those rare treats in music: a first-listen winner that demands repeated plays.” Rock Cellar Magazine reports that the band has shared stages with Lyle Lovett, Robert Randolph, Jim Messina, Eddie Money and Robby Krieger of the Doors.
A stage where Stevie Wonder, Ray Charles, and Natalie Cole once broke, The Mint is a Mid-City club with a long-standing reputation for live music. The room holds about 300 standing guests with a few seats, offering a close view of the stage. The atmosphere is lively with a full bar, tapas-style food, and a dance floor. Shows run from 7 PM to 2 AM on weekends, with jazz, blues, and soul acts. The experience blends music and conversation, with early arrival recommended for the best seats. It's a place where musicians and fans gather, and the energy is strong.
