Armand Hammer headline Lodge Room with a bill featuring Open Mike Eagle and Kenny Segal, Human Error Club, and Sha Ray with DJ Haram. The New York rap duo arrives behind Mercy, its first album since 2023’s We Buy Diabetic Test Strips. The night brings together the pair’s densely written work with a supporting cast that includes a collaborative set from Open Mike Eagle and producer Kenny Segal.
For nearly a decade as a duo, and longer as solo artists, Armand Hammer have made a mark on modern rap and hip-hop through sharp-witted, soul-crushing writing that connects socio-political, historical, and philosophical threads with critique, gallows humor, and narrative flair. The duo is billy woods and ELUCID: woods’ 2025 album GOLLIWOG was called “a densely poetic, totally masterful tour de force” by Rolling Stone, while The FADER named it one of 2025’s essential albums. ELUCID’s REVELATOR drew praise from MOJO as “enthralling”; Pitchfork called it “soul food for those who know a better world is possible if we’re willing to fight for it.” Their 2021 collaboration with The Alchemist, Haram, was praised by Pitchfork for dragging “postcolonial wounds onto the examination table.”
The Lodge Room offers a distinctive live music experience on the second floor of a building in Highland Park, where the room’s modest size brings the stage close to the audience, creating a direct connection with the performers. The venue features a bar but does not serve full meals, encouraging guests to focus on the music while enjoying drinks. Shows typically start in the evening, with doors opening around 7 pm and performances beginning an hour later, often including multiple sets or late-night shows. Seating is limited and generally first come first served, so arriving early can secure a good spot. The space’s walls and layout emphasize the music, making it a place to listen attentively while still allowing for a relaxed social vibe. This venue remains a lively part of the local music scene, hosting a range of artists and styles.
