Sam Burton, Mia Wilson

Sam Burton and Mia Wilson are billed at Zebulon in Frogtown for a 21+ show. The event listing names both artists, while its lineup section specifically lists Wilson; it does not establish the performers’ onstage formation or whether either will join the other’s set. Burton’s music is described by the listing as holding hope and possibility alongside the tension of accepting and grieving loss.

Burton is a Los Angeles-based singer-songwriter originally from Utah, known for folk songs built around acoustic guitar, melancholy vocals, and, on Dear Departed, strings and piano. He has worked with producer Jonathan Wilson on Dear Departed and Fairweather Friend, and formed the folk-rock project Sylvie with Ben Schwab and Marina Allen. Writers have called his work “timeless” and “low-key”; The Guardian noted “gentle, ruminative, slightly mournful vocals.” Wilson is a Southern California singer-songwriter whose piano- and guitar-led writing combines orchestral arrangements, introspective lyrics, and mezzo-soprano vocals. Westzeit praised her “golden Westcoast-folk-pop sound” and “captivating mezzo-soprano.”
