Emi Secrest
Live at The Sun Rose8430 West Sunset Boulevard, Los Angeles 90069
Emi Secrest headlines her Memphis Soul Sessions, a celebration of the singer whose guest appearances with top musicians have previously impressed Sun Rose audiences. The night centers her Memphis-inspired sound, rich vocals and live musicianship.
Memphis-born and now based in Los Angeles, Secrest blends Tennessee roots with jazz and contemporary R&B. A Grammy nominee alongside Cory Henry for Live at the Piano, she has also toured and performed with Keyon Harrold and Robert Glasper, opened for Macy Gray across Australia and New Zealand, and worked with John Legend and Kanye West.
Standing on the site of the former House of Blues along the Sunset Strip, the venue operates as a plush, 150-capacity listening lounge that puts audiences practically within arm's reach of the performers. Curated under the musical direction of Adam Blackstone, the space pairs pristine acoustics with low-lit velvet banquettes and cocktail tables, striking a balance between a serious listening room and a sophisticated night out. Advance ticket purchases are essential for entry: seating is divided between general standing room and reserved tables offering dedicated cocktail service, alongside dining options available on-site through the venue and hotel property. Late sets frequently draw surprise drop-ins from top-tier musicians, and patrons often linger for drinks after the performance.
