Who’s Live Today?

Natural Child

Natural Child, Graffiti Phalico

Lodge Room104 Avenue 56, Los Angeles 90042

Natural Child heads to Lodge Room for a full-band rock ’n’ roll set, with Graffiti Phalico also featured on the bill. The Nashville group is currently credited as Seth Murray, Wes Traylor, Zack Martin and Benny Devine. The evening brings their songs into the venue’s second-floor room in Highland Park, where the stage sits close to the crowd.

Natural Child emerged from Nashville as a trio and has grown into a four-member band. AllMusic hears “good and greasy” rock drawing from Southern rock, vintage country-rock, laid-back Laurel Canyon sounds, ’70s-style boogie and hard rock; a Vortex Music Magazine profile calls the expanded group a “70’s era family-style band.” Paste has praised the “rough-around-the-edges charm” of their garage rock, while FLOOD singles out their “hysterically perfect lyrics.” Ink 19 calls their approach “no gimmick” and describes the results as “some of the finest (and often, funniest) rock ’n’ roll this side of the ’70s.” Cooper Crain produced Natural Child (California Hotel), which also features contributions from Greg Ashley, Harry Schultz, Rob Frye and Ben LaMar Gay.

The Lodge Room offers a distinctive live music experience on the second floor of a building in Highland Park, where the room’s modest size brings the stage close to the audience, creating a direct connection with the performers. The venue features a bar but does not serve full meals, encouraging guests to focus on the music while enjoying drinks. Shows typically start in the evening, with doors opening around 7 pm and performances beginning an hour later, often including multiple sets or late-night shows. Seating is limited and generally first come first served, so arriving early can secure a good spot. The space’s walls and layout emphasize the music, making it a place to listen attentively while still allowing for a relaxed social vibe. This venue remains a lively part of the local music scene, hosting a range of artists and styles.
