The Courettes

Gold-Diggers5632 Santa Monica Boulevard, Los Angeles 90038

The Courettes headline Gold-Diggers with Position Nuit listed in support. The Brazilian-Danish duo of Flavia Couri, on vocals and guitar, and drummer and vocalist Martin Couri arrive behind their fourth album, The Soul Of… The Fabulous Courettes. Expect the pair’s compact, forceful setup to carry the night, with the new record presented as their biggest, widest and deepest release yet.

The Courettes describe their sound as a “garage Wall of Sound duo,” joining 1960s garage rock and early-punk drive to girl-group harmonies and fuzzed-out guitars. Their music also draws on doo-wop, surf, Motown and Phil Spector-style production, and they have shared stages with The Sonics, The Pretty Things, Holly Golightly, The BellRays, Jon Spencer, Weezer and Wilco. Rolling Stone called them “the real sound of now”; MOJO heard “a giddy rush of noise,” while Vive Le Rock called them “the real deal.” A Brighton and Hove News live review went further, describing them as “one of the most storming rock ’n’ roll duos that you’ll ever see.”

Gold-Diggers offers a distinctive blend of a bar, music venue, and dance floor, where the room holds about 175 people, creating a space that feels lively yet focused on the music. The interior features disco-ball chandeliers and a touch of seedy glamour that nods to its storied past, setting a scene that’s both raw and celebratory. The sound system is state of the art, designed to deliver showcase-quality performances that range from rock and roll to all-vinyl DJ sets and surprise shows. The crowd is drawn by an ever-changing lineup curated by music enthusiasts, making each night a chance to discover fresh talent or enjoy familiar favorites. Classic cocktails are served at the bar, encouraging mingling and dancing well into the early hours, with the venue open nightly from 7pm to 2am.
