Peach Tree Rascals

The Paramount2708 E. Cesar E. Chavez Avenue, Los Angeles 90033

Peach Tree Rascals bring their five-person collective to The Paramount for a full band presentation shaped by the group’s genre-fluid approach. With no further event description supplied, the night is billed simply around the San Jose crew and the blend of rap, singing, production and visual direction that defines their work.

Originating in San Jose, California, Peach Tree Rascals comprise producer and mixer Dom; rappers and singers Issac, Tarrek and Joseph; and creative director Jorge. Their music moves among alt-R&B, alt-jazz, pop, rock and hip-hop, and their breakout track “Mariposa” achieved viral recognition on TikTok. They have also worked with AG Club, Jody Fontaine, P-Lo and Michael Sneed on “Oliver,” from Love, The Rascals. EARMILK wrote that the group’s “diverse instrumentation and vocal performances” resist an easy rap-group label, adding that “Nothing is off-limits.” Ones To Watch called their indie pop “euphoric” and said it “defies simple classification.”

The Paramount’s second-floor ballroom carries a history that reaches back to its 1924 opening, and later became a focal point for Boyle Heights punk and new-wave music. Today, shows take place on a general-admission standing floor, with exposed brick around the room and a low stage; the venue says it can arrange seats by request for seniors and patrons with disabilities. Expect a bar serving drinks during the performance, and food from the ground-floor Brooklyn Ave Pizza Co., including pizza and wings, with some items brought upstairs. Shows generally start about an hour after doors open, with one to three support acts before a headliner who typically takes the stage at 10 or 11 p.m. It is in Boyle Heights, east of downtown Los Angeles.
