Go Betty Go, Gamblers Mark

Alex's Bar2913 E Anaheim St, Los Angeles 90804

Alex’s Bar hosts a four-act bill led by Gamblers Mark and Go Betty Go, with Thee Landau Bars and Rudy Nuno and the Broadcasters also on the program. Gamblers Mark perform as a trio: guitarist and lead vocalist David “Dave” Arechiga, upright bassist and backing vocalist Dan-e Arechiga, and drummer and backing vocalist Ricky Salazar. Go Betty Go arrive as a quartet comprising vocalist Nicolette Vilar, guitarist Betty Cisneros, drummer Aixa Vilar, and bassist Michelle Rangel. It is an amplified band night in Alex’s Bar’s corner-stage room in Long Beach.

Gamblers Mark are a Los Angeles area, or El Monte area, rockabilly band whose own biography resists a single label: their sound blends “Rockabilly, Psychobilly, Surf, Ska, Corridos para mover las nalgas, and reved up 50s rock n roll.” Their releases include The Last Chance Saloon, The Cho Incident, and Dirty Needles, and a Gretsch profile notes that they have toured around the world. Go Betty Go are an all-female, all-Latina Los Angeles pop-punk quartet associated with the Southern California Chicano punk scene and Warped Tour. The Los Angeles Times called their songs “classic, stripped-down ‘77-style,” while Newsweek praised “the snappiest three-chord tunes around.”

Alex’s Bar pairs its punk-rock identity with a striking, blood-red interior and velvet paintings of Elvis and Mexican wrestlers; it also appeared as Fangtasia in True Blood. The room is a Long Beach bar and live-music venue, with the stage set into a corner and a spacious floor for shows. Expect amplified bands alongside the bar’s regular social life, rather than a concert room focused solely on quiet listening. The venue’s FAQ describes its commitment to an inclusive, accessible environment, and its site lists food pop-ups on a calendar, so food availability depends on the event. Show details and ticket arrangements can vary; check the listing for the performance you have found. Alex’s Bar is still operating at its longstanding East Anaheim Street address in Long Beach.
