The Ace Frehley Band tops a four-act rock bill at Whisky a Go Go, joined by West Bound featuring Chas West, Rogues of Chaos and Crenshaw. The listing gives no running order or special-theme framing, but it does identify the night as an all-ages show, bringing together a veteran rock name with Los Angeles hard rock and San Diego power-pop-punk connections.
West Bound was formed in the Los Angeles area by vocalist Chas West, whose credits include Resurrection Kings, Bonham and Lynch Mob, and guitarist and producer Roy Z, known for work with Bruce Dickinson, Halford and Tribe of Gypsies. The listed lineup also includes Jimmy Burkard, Jason Cornwell, Dave “Chilli” Moreno and Stephen LeBlanc; the group describes its music through soulful vocals and strong melodies in a classic hard-rock frame. Rogues of Chaos is a San Diego high-powered punk rock and power pop band led by guitarist Julian “Jerry” Flack. Members have earlier ties to Cardiac Kidz, Spice Pistols and Pinkeye, while drummer Matt Starr recorded and produced for the group. A review of their debut single “Crazy for You” heard an “uptempo power pop groove,” a “high-octane” vocal and an “infectiously catchy” hook.
Whisky a Go Go’s claim to fame is written into rock history: The Doors were among the early bands who built an audience there, and the club became a launching ground for generations of performers. Today, it remains an active live-music club on the Sunset Strip in West Hollywood, with shows listed on its calendar. Expect a close-up, loud rock-club evening: the main floor is mostly standing room, with a few booths at the sides, while an upstairs balcony has limited seating. Bills often feature several acts, so check the listing for your show’s doors and schedule. The venue has bars on both levels and serves food, according to current venue information. Tickets are available through TicketWeb; confirm the event details and availability before heading over.
