A “Jazzy” Christmas with David Garfield featuring Robbie Wyckoff
Alvas Showroom1417 W 8th St, Los Angeles 90732
David Garfield brings his second annual holiday show to Alvas Showroom with a five-piece all-star ensemble. Garfield plays piano and synthesizer, joined by vocalists Robbie Wyckoff and Jo Nagle, bassist Tim Landers, and drummer John Ferraro. The program draws from Garfield’s critically acclaimed Holidays Outside The Box and moves between vocal and instrumental holiday numbers, making this an early-season Christmas set built around his keyboards and the two singers.
Garfield is described by Alvas as a world-renowned pianist and keyboardist, and this holiday ensemble is presented as his own all-star project rather than a separately named band. Wyckoff is identified as lead vocalist of Pablo Cruise and Roger Waters’ Pink Floyd. The supplied material does not specify the ensemble’s hometown or offer further background on the other players, but the billed lineup gives the show a clear band format: keyboards, bass, drums, and two vocalists, with Garfield’s Holidays Outside The Box material at its core.
Alvas Showroom offers a rare chance to experience live music in a setting designed for deep listening and connection. The room seats 99 people in a small amphitheater layout, with chairs angled toward a low stage surrounded by vintage stringed instruments hanging on the walls. Every seat provides an unobstructed view and pristine acoustics, so every note and lyric reaches you clearly. The venue emphasizes artistry, hosting jazz, world music, Americana, and guitar-centric performances that attract musicians who value attentive audiences. There is no food or drink service, but complimentary coffee, tea, and water are available, and you are welcome to bring your own refreshments. Free parking and wheelchair accessibility add to the ease of the visit. The experience is focused on the music itself, making it a perfect evening to slow down and immerse yourself in sound.
