Pretty But Wicked Presents: Iceage
Teragram Ballroom1234 W 7th St, Los Angeles 90017
Pretty But Wicked presents Iceage, the Copenhagen band that began as a four-piece in 2008 and later added guitarist Casper Morilla Fernandez.
AllMusic hears “a smart and ambitious spin on punk” with “emotional and physical power,” tracing the group from abrasive early work toward more multifaceted songwriting. Iceage recorded Seek Shelter with Sonic Boom, and Sky Ferreira sang on “Pain Killer” from Beyondless, which Pitchfork called an “astonishing odyssey.”
Teragram Ballroom gives a former 1913 theatre a second life as a live-music hall, with a proscenium stage, balcony and room for up to 625 standing guests. The historic shell and purpose-built concert setup make the building part of the occasion, while its calendar ranges across touring acts and other live events. Most shows are general admission, so expect to stand and choose your view on the floor; the venue also has three bars, including one in the front lounge and another in its café. Check the listing for the night’s doors and format, since some events use mixed seating. It is at 1234 West 7th Street, on the Westlake side of the Downtown Los Angeles area. The venue’s calendar lists upcoming events, confirming it is operating at this address.
