Stop Light Observations

The Peppermint Club8713 Beverly Blvd, Los Angeles 90048

Stop Light Observations, also known as SLO, play The Peppermint Club in West Hollywood on November 13. The Charleston group is presented as a four-piece, with Will Blackburn on vocals, Oleg Terentiev on drums, David Beam on guitar, and Jeremiah King on keys. Expect the band’s blend of blues, pop and indie rock, threaded with electronic beats, in a full-band set.

SLO come from Charleston, South Carolina, and say their roots reach back to the members’ childhood. An earlier EPK called their sound “arena-ready indie rock”; coverage of Toogoodoo included PBS, Conan O’Brien’s Fresh Noise, Impose, PopMatters and Garden & Gun. They have toured or shared bills with artists including Band of Horses, Pixies, Hootie & the Blowfish, Moon Taxi, the Revivalists, O.A.R., the Avett Brothers and Rainbow Kitten Surprise, and have appeared at Bonnaroo and Firefly. Live reports emphasize momentum: The Red & Black praised the band’s “contagious energy” and “catchy mix of music,” while Top Shelf Music called one performance “flawless” and “magical.”

The Peppermint Club offers a sleek, modern setting where the focus is firmly on the music and the performers. The room features a well-designed layout with a bar serving a curated menu of drinks, creating a space where the audience can enjoy the show while socializing comfortably. Seating is available but limited, encouraging a mix of standing and sitting that keeps the energy dynamic without overwhelming conversation. Shows are ticketed, so securing your spot ahead is wise, and the venue often hosts multiple sets or late-night performances, making for a full evening of entertainment. The club’s polished yet approachable vibe makes it a distinctive spot for discovering new sounds or enjoying established acts in West Hollywood’s lively scene.
