Venice & The Pine Mountain Logs

Venice, The Pine Mountain Logs

The Canyon - Agoura Hills

Venice & The Pine Mountain Logs brings Venice together with its cover-band alter ego for a night that moves between the group’s own harmony-led songwriting and the Logs’ high-energy takes on pop and rock standards. The Pine Mountain Logs reshape familiar songs with comic left turns: the venue suggests that The Police’s “Message in a Bottle” may veer into the Gilligan’s Island theme, while David Bowie’s “Fame” can collide with Irene Cara’s “Fame.” Expect playful medleys, unexpected tags and a set built to keep songs in motion.

Venice comes from Venice Beach, California, and comprises two sets of brothers: Michael and Mark Lennon, alongside cousins Kipp and Pat Lennon. The band has recorded and performed together since the 1980s, drawing classic rock and folk influences into pop-minded songs marked by harmonies and personal lyrics. Their cover-band project, the Pine Mountain Logs, began as a “fun side thing” in 1992 and later “caught fire,” according to a local press preview. The Logs have played for MTV’s Christmas Party, Jeff Bridges and David Crosby. Crosby has called Venice “the best vocal group in the country and one of the best bands I have ever heard,” while Jackson Browne describes them as “quintessentially Californian.”

The Canyon’s appeal is its dinner-and-concert format: you can make a full evening of a show, with table seating paired with dinner service or general-admission access to the concert floor. The calendar ranges from touring performers and tribute acts to themed nights, often with opening acts before the headliner. Expect a ticketed event, and check the listing for your show’s seating and dining arrangements; some events specify a two-drink minimum. Doors commonly open early enough to arrive before the music, though timings vary by event. The venue is at 28912 Roadside Drive in Agoura Hills, in the Conejo Valley, and current official listings continue to advertise shows there. It’s a practical choice if you want dinner and live music under one roof.
