CROOKED QUARTET

Band led by Oscar Noriega

Jazz

Oscar Noriega’s Crooked Quartet is a rotating ensemble led by the composer and multi-instrumentalist on alto saxophone and clarinets. At Barbès, Noriega brings standards and his own compositions to a group that often includes Marta Sanchez on piano, Christopher Tordini on bass, Jason Nazary on drums and Justin Mullens on trumpet. The project follows Noriega’s long-running Crooked Trio, originally conceived as a vehicle for his drumming. He is also a member of Tim Berne’s Snakeoil, Endangered Blood and Boss Tenor, and co-leads Banda De Los Muertos with Jacob Garchik.
